MAGNIFIN Magnesiaprodukte GmbH & Co KG manufactures and distributes a range of very high quality magnesium oxide and hydroxide powders, and special sodium silicates at it's state-of-the-art plant in Breitenau near Graz in the south-east of Austria. MAGNIFIN was founded in 1990 as a joint venture, combining the world-wide marketing strengths of Martinswerk GmbH, and the manufacturing and product technology know-how of Veitscher Magnesitwerke AG in Austria (now part of the RHI Group). The raw material for the MgO-unit is serpentine which is quarried and refined 40 km west of the plant. The known reserves are some hundreds of millions of tons, and probably in excess of one billion.
